BRANDING
Color Palette
Once the brand vibe was clear, I began the redesigning process by choosing a vibrant, yet educational color palette that could be easily identified by children and associated with learning. For this reason, my primary color options were blue (which can be associated wih calmness), a bright green (which resembles kindness and represents the nature), and yellow (of course, happiness but also focus).

USER TESTING
Case 1
Register as a new member and complete a daily word game challenge.
Outcome
Participant completed the registration process smoothly. She spent a while trying to find a “challenges” section until remembering the request mentioned a ‘word game’. She then clicks on games, scrolls down to Wordly and finishes the daily word puzzle.
Case 2
Search for another connected user’s location complete with their current address.
Outcome
User looked around the home page for a short time before realizing where the globe icon was located on the nav bar. Once tapped, the user tried dragging the map to the sides until noticing the drop-down that shows all other users. Tester clicked on Abby yet struggled a bit to realize the complete location would appear once the pin was tapped.
Case 3
Mark off your task reminders and set an alarm for one of your notification reminders.
Outcome
On the home page, the tester scrolled down and check marked all the empty boxes, then clicked on “+ add a new reminder”. Although this was one way of doing the first part of the task, to set the alarm for the notification reminders, he had to first click on the bell, then tap “set alarm” and finally confirm.
CONCLUSION...
Feedback
According to all test participants, Memory Maker has an overall clean and very familiar interface. Most iconography is comprehensible as well. However there is still some work to be done regarding certain interactions and navigation.
Results
Memory Maker was one of my more developed UI/UX design projects. Then again, I understand there is still some work to be done. Once these imperfections regarding navigation and some of the interactions are adjusted, it could easily pass off as any other assisting app.
