
Brief
SPLVTR (pronounced "splat-ter") is an apparel brand aimed towards rebellious outcasts who do not belong anywhere nor match any specific labels. SPLVTR encompasses the concepts of alienation, self-reflection, anger, and how these could help push oneself forward in all aspects.
The main icon of SPLVTR is its mascot, a cyber-vejigante.
Vejigante (Puerto Rico): traditional and folkloric figure stemming from the mix of Spanish, African, and Taino culture. Vejigantes are mainly represented through costumes of bright color fabrics and a horned papier-mâché mask with sharp teeth, reminiscent of a demon. The origins of the Vejigante are very extensive, but currently it is seen as a symbol of cultural identity and strength.
